LIC Housing Finance home loan interest rates

We could not find LIC Housing Finance's current rate card. A document on its own site (cdn.lichousing.com) was checked on 18 Oct 2026. Our note on it: “Individual housing loans contracted in Q1 FY27: minimum 7.15%, maximum 11.00%. Aggregators and press quote new loans from 7.35% to 7.50%.” We show a starting rate of 7.50% for new loans, from published reports; ask LIC HFL for its current rate. It sets its own rate rather than following the RBI repo rate. To move an existing loan to a lower rate with LIC HFL, the fee is about ₹3,540 with GST on a ₹50 lakh loan, an estimate: LIC HFL does not publish it.

Rates for new loans

New loans from 7.50%. Only this "from" rate is given; the rate you get depends on your credit score and loan.

How the rate moves

LIC HFL sets its own rate, using its LHPLR (internal prime lending rate). It does not have to move when the RBI changes the repo rate.

Rates are set by the lender's own prime lending rate, not directly by the RBI repo rate. Rate cuts reach existing borrowers only when the lender revises LHPLR or on request.

How to ask LIC HFL for a lower rate

If you already have a loan with LIC HFL, you can ask it in writing to move you to its current rate. It is a request, and the lender decides.

  1. Log in to the LIC HFL customer portal and look for the rate rewrite option, or write to customer support.
  2. Ask for written confirmation of the fee and a request number.

These steps are what borrowers report; LIC HFL's own site does not set them out. Ask your branch to confirm.

The fee: about ₹3,540 with GST on a ₹50 lakh loan. Not published on the pages checked. ₹3,000 is an indicative figure for a rate rewrite; ask for the written fee.

Paying off early

For loans sanctioned or renewed on or after 1 January 2026, no bank, NBFC or housing finance company may charge for part or full pre-payment of a floating-rate loan taken by an individual for non-business purposes, whatever the source of funds and with no lock-in. Older floating-rate home loans were already protected by RBI's 2012 and 2014 circulars (banks) and NHB directions (HFCs). Any charge not written in your sanction letter or Key Facts Statement cannot be levied.
